Biography

Andrew J. Williams joined Strause Law Group, PLLC as an associate attorney in 2020. Growing up near Louisville, he attended Providence High School in Clarksville, Indiana. After high school, he attended the University of Louisville where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a focus in genetics and subcellular biology in 2010. During his undergraduate education he was awarded two internships: a marketing assistant position in the University of Louisville Office of Technology Transfer and an undergraduate assistant position in the laboratory of Dr. Geoffrey Clark. Through these internships he gained a firm understanding of business, the application of technologies, and molecular pathways of diseases for the purpose of developing effective therapeutics. 

Following his undergraduate career, he attended Vanderbilt University in 2011 where he entered into the Cancer Biology Department and joined the laboratory of Dr. Rebecca Cook. His research and education at Vanderbilt focused primarily on the development, progression, and potential treatment of pregnancy associated breast cancer. While at Vanderbilt University, Andrew was further awarded an internship with Vanderbilt University’s Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization where he gained experience in market analysis and business forecasting for therapeutics and medical devices. In 2013, Andrew was elected Academic Co-Chair of the Cancer Biology Student Association. He received his Master of Science from Vanderbilt University in 2014. 

Andrew returned to the University of Louisville to attend the Brandeis School of Law. During his time at the Brandeis School of Law he was one of few awarded an externship with the Entrepreneurship Clinic. In the Entrepreneurship Clinic he was able to help local entrepreneurs establish their businesses and create the documents they required in order to ensure the effective development of their business. Based upon his previous experience in biology, Andrew was able to work with medical device companies as a consultant. He returned to the University of Louisville Office of Technology Transfer to develop his understanding of business transactions, information transfer and security, intellectual property, assignment, and licensing. He graduated with his Juris Doctor Cum Laude in 2019.

In his Associate Attorney position at Strause Law Group, PLLC, Andrew represents clients in a variety of legal matters, including but not limited to, Business Transactions and Disputes, Privacy, Trade Secret, Healthcare Law, Employment Law, and Contracts. 

In his free time, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Lehanna Sanders, and their dog, Uffizi. Additionally, he enjoys gardening in his vegetable garden and creating music on guitar and bass.
